Tony Tolbert

Tony Tolbert was the man, and I am sure he has a lot of knowledge that he could impart to these players. I’m sure bringing in guys like him, Aaron Jones, Will Hernandez, Quintin Demps or any guys who went pro is not only a great way for the players to give back, but a great opportunity for the younger players to learn.

But after watching how different between Walden and Dimel you can see where coaching is becoming a very young man’s game. You have to be able to relate to these players and they want high energy guys. Tolbert strikes me as a very old school guy who is obviously a Miner legend and a talented player but could his skill set transfer to coaching? At the very least I think UTEP did a great job at the spring game connecting with former players. And I think bringing them in not only to talk to the team, but to maybe show some things would be a great way to connect the program.
