UTEP Basketball Recruiting

Wilson should get rid of Senter and get somebody that knows what they are doing. Beg Foster to help $ for an athletic overhaul. Try like hell to get into the MW. Create a master plan and present it do donors and alumni for more $. Start a mandatory student althletic fee. Be proactive before changes occur in the PAC 12. We should go after Kimani Young now or a splash hire that can get shit rolling.

Senter gives Golding 3 year extension.

None of this is going to happen

Lol, all they did was copy-paste UTEP's writeup.

So his parents liked UTEP, but he chose PSU. What is the disconnect with Golding and the players? Hearing the rumor that he never spoke to Z is pissing me off..
Gotta give UTEP props. Their obsession with controlling the narrative inside, outside and both is impressive.

Problem is that it is not resulting in playoffs, OOC wins vs P5, invites, post season….nada!

Now in also saying that, it’s just year two for CG.

However, the expectations are high even in a post portal transfer environment.

No, it’s not. It’s year 3. It’s not our fault, all his recruits in 2021 were duds. It’s not our fault, he kept some of Terry’s players.

You and other old farts, need to stop with the “coaches need 4 years” bullcrap. Every school can turnover the roster every year. When a new coach comes in, they don’t have to keep any of the previous coaches players. This isn’t 2006 or even 2016. Times have changed. None of these guys stick around anymore, especially when you have a crappy coach and don’t win.

Bronzeing needs to win this year. This will be his last year here if he has another year like last year. He’s not building anything. There’s no young guys he’s coaching up since they were Freshmen. He’s just trading in his 2005 Civics for 2008 Civics.

Jeff Taylor played at Houston and Detroit, son Jeffory Played for Charlotte. Bill Bridges at the Knicks as well. Ronald Ross, who led the NCAA in scoring at Tech is from here.. not a problem at all... geez
Whoa! All the big names! Bill Bridges hasn’t played in 50 years and is dead. That Hobbs basketball factory is very cumbersome!! UTEP should get all their players from there!

Who else? List was many long.

McNeese’s best crowd last year was 3,304. They fired their coach after 2 years and brought in Will Wade.

For all you guys that think good crowds at the Don and selling it out matters, it doesn’t. Recruits do not care.

Maybe not directly. A recruit certainly doesn't ask a coach, "How big are your crowds?"

But indirectly? You bet your sweet bippy it matters. Big crowds and winning are joined at the hip. Win and the crowds come in. Crowds come in and you get more TV exposure and more money. More exposure and more money makes your school a more desirable place to play. Making your school a more desirable place to play brings in better recruits.

It's the circle of life in places like Lawrence, KS., Chapel Hill and Durham, NC., even -- gasp! -- Spokane, WA.

You can't simply disregard the value of bigger crowds. They matter eventually.

It’s recruiting related, plus I’m sure it’s something u can bring up 8 years from now
This thread is only for UTEP recruits. The transfer portal thread created by devil man is where you put this info. Do you need me to send you the Minerdigs protocol booklet?

Those cities you mentioned have good basketball programs that win and are on TV. They’re not losing to Rice on ESPN+.
