Coach Terry makes 1st UTEP offer / Basketball Recruiting

Ezeagu is such an “impactful” player that he is deciding between 2 basketball powerhouses - UTEP and Western Michigan.

Hope I’m wrong.

The sad part is that UTEP hasn't won a postseason game since 2009 and haven't been to the Big Dance since 2010.

Western Michigan won postseason games in 2011 and 2013 and made the Big Dance in 2014.

Read above. There are comments where people are upset that he's taking so long to make a decision, about him acting like he's a 5 star, and other criticisms. And hey, I get it. I been checking this thread multiple times a day for forever, hoping each time for good news. But as fans I believe that we need to take a step back, realize that this is these kids' lives, and give them time to make their decision.

Did you read my rationale? If they were to transfer to another D1 school they would have to sit out a year. One thing about quality athletes is that they like to play. By going to a JC they get to play right away, and have the opportunity, especially with a good year, of getting recruited again to multiple D1 schools. How is that not a good option?

Nobody is upset . I have said he is acting like he is Lebron James. But nobody is nocking him about his recruiting process. If anything the critizem is to some Utep fans overhyping the player . It would be great if Utep landed a him. But if they dont get him then thats fine.

you ask Wade or Smith. They probably would have rather transfered to a D1. The JC offer was probably Smiths only choice. No player that played D1 would want to transfer to a JC school that is a stepp down.

The sad part is that your constant use of the word sad gives away your sad attempts at hiding your alias.

It seems like some of you have resigned to the fact that Isaac will not pick UTEP. He is not doing anything unusual. He took his visits and will have a signing party today. His circumstances have changed and his stock has risen. He never considered UTEP before so he is giving us a lot of attention due to Terry. The only reason why some are giving him so much attention is because we want him too. There are just different ways of showing it. Making excuses why we don't want him now before he decides is pretty lame in my book. I would love to have him and Kaosi, but based on our immediate needs Kaosi is #1. I think they both have tremendous potential.

Tell me more Sherlock.

I'm not hiding behind anything.
Me Sherlock? Sure stalker boy. Says the guy that scrolled through months of my social media. Anyway. I ain’t derailing a good thread. Send me a dm if you wanna talk. You know my Twitter.

Are you being serious? Happens in both fb and bb with regularity. Ever heard of Cam Newton? Trevor Mbakwe?

As previous posters have said, some players want to play, not sit for a year. This is a good option to make that happen. Also, going juco re-opens your recruitment back to the D1 level without having missed a beat.

He is going to Okie St... Hope i'm wrong, but I don't think so. I agree with Kappy. The big guy is who we need. I'm sure Terry is waiting for Isaac to formally announce. Then hopefully UTEP can "move" on and do some announcing of their own!

Yes i know it happens. But it doesnt mean the player likes it.

I'm not a stalker. I'm not sure why you keep saying stupid things.

You have derailed and you keep derailing threads. You're the person who remembers every time I use "sad" in my posts. '

Please stop derailing threads. Thank you.

What games did you see him play in and what D1 prospects did he play against?

Oh, that’s right, you haven’t.

And what makes you a expert at judging basketball talent? If you know so much about how good a player is gooing to be. You should be a pro scout.

If Issac commits...

Given the last start to recruiting this would be very impressive for Terry. I’m very excited to see what next years class looks like. Might be in the top 50 nationally.

We know you aren't an expert at the English language.

It's embarrassing when your typos mean something else completely different.

Where did I say he was going to be crap? He’s choosing between UTEP & WMU. Not Kentucky and UCLA. So, that means he’s not too highly thought of. Maybe bigger schools made a mistake. Maybe UTEP did, time will tell.

You and others are acting like he will be good, no matter what. Nobody on here has seen him play. Again, I am not saying he won’t. Let’s see him enroll and beat up Northern New Mexico before he’s anointed a god on here.

I hope he’s the greatest fvcking player of all time!

You always, always need a quality big man, just like a college or pro team has too have a good center and a solid, trusty worth left tackle to protect that qb's blind side and can pull and block like a sprinter for the rb. Otherwise, production drop considerably. It's a must at that level of football.

But D1 ball has moved to the arc and shows no sign of letting up. The perimeter is the place to win. Right Marshall?! Isaac shows the skills to bring that immediately. UTEP does not have a consistent assassin and Likelele can be that player. You need the one who steps on the opponents neck with 1:10 left on the clock and nails the three ball like ice or drives and/or dishes to the big man with poise and calm like a game at the park. That's what UTEP needs to get back to the top of CUSA. Likelele will have to wait a while to possibly do that at OSU and TT because they're set at that position right now for the next two years or unless IL wants to gamble on injury, transfer or dismal of those ahead of him for his break. Come to UTEP and as they say in real estate "it's move in ready" and CRT will have the DHC rockin like it's supposed to be. That's why I think he'll come to UTEP.

Can we stop fighting with each other for two minutes? I understand we have some Aggie fans on here and most ignore them but some of you honest fans are playing a circular pissing match when there is no need to. Look, I can vouch for Fili. He has been on here for a long time and actually watches the practices at time and has given good insight. Some of the newer just give it two weeks to get to know this on line community and you will learn the other persons angle.

Thanks! Mr. Kettle

You’re right in that we haven’t seen him play a D1 game yet. He could be a bust for any number of reasons. My money is on the opposite, though.

What you cannot deny, even in watching just 5 minutes of film, is that UTEP has not had a big man with his level of raw athleticism in I can’t even tell you how long. If he is coachable, if he works hard, if he stays healthy, if he passes his classes, a lot of “ifs”, but if he has those qualities, he will be a damn good player.

Who are the Aggie fans on here? I don't think there are any "dishonest" fans on here. I think everybody who posts on here wants UTEP to be successful.

You lost all credibility when you say you vouch for Fili. What good insight has he given? Did he graduate from UTEP? I'm just asking because he can't write a coherent sentence to save his life.

Now wait for the posts to say I have no credibility on here. LOL

A never ending negative circle. If he has multiple high major offers he’s not skilled enough and comes from a small school. If he only has two offers he’s not good enough cuz more power house teams aren’t offering him. I guess we have to beat out Duke and Kentucky for some to be happy.

From what I've read he just needs to stay healthy. Most think he is pretty raw on offense.

I’ve read the same. High academic standing. Great work ethic. Very coachable. Most of the traits to succeed greatly, when combined with such athleticism.

Raw on the offensive end for sure. That’s why we need a guy who can feed him above the rim. He finishes with great authority. If he collects the ball within 3 feet of the rim, he will be very difficult to stop. On top of that, he will develop a more well rounded game each passing year.

I dont go to practices. I went to UTSA but im born and raised a Utep fan. I have played 1 on 1 against Antonio Gillespie a long time ago when he was at Utep. He was a cool guy.

Thanks for proving my point that you can't write a coherent sentence and you don't know how to spell.
