The fact that there was no announcement yesterday speaks loudly about the complete lack of leadership by Senter. This should have been planned and coordinated starting at least 4 weeks ago. Search firms contacted, severance package, etc. Senter really is over his head.
Agree. It also could mean he didn’t believe in any coach on this staff.
So, according to Senter, Dimel "built a more competitive" team (compared to winning 0 games). It's like saying getting a D is better than getting an F.

Senter has no business being anywhere near the HC hire!!
Kris McCullough from UTPB is a guy I would love to see be given an opportunity. He’s 28 years old and has already had quite a bit of success in a short period of time. He’s a coach that definitely has a bright future ahead of him.
He should get an fcs opportunity and utep is basically an fcs school. We just pay fbs prices.

Great info! That’s pretty damning for Senter! Doesn’t live up to Wilson’s 50/50 shot philosophy!
I'm sure Bob Stull wasn't much better in his last few years. But for sure, utep needs new leadership. The athletic department needs an overhaul.
Stull had a better relationship with the boosters, which led to significant facilities improvements even at the very end. That said, he stayed way too long as well.

People are really throwing some dumb ass names out there. The scary thing is if you are ever tried by a jury of your peers these mouth breathing doofuses are gonna decide your fate.

Some great names being mentioned. Not sure if these are actual candidates or people just throwing out names. White, Banks and Killough would be my top choices from the list. White and Banks are long shots though since they’re each making more money as P5 assistants. Banks has tons of Texas recruiting connections, but would probably not be a candidate.
In all seriousness, most are not aware what it takes to run a competitive FBS program and I’m including pro coaches. NFL prefers to hire assistants who have FBS head coaching experience but is not always the case. Stansbury would laugh his ass off at this idea. Coaches now have to bring in NIL money along with selling (season) tickets and also play portal roulette.
Now take a look at all these names and write them down. Throw that list in the trash. Now think of a coach that inspires you the least. 10 bucks says that’s our next head coach.
