UNT can stay the hell home. Teams travel with protocols to lots of cities with covid issues and its basically fly charter to EP on Friday, stay in your sanitized hotel one night, have food delivered in a safe manner to your hotel, play on Saturday and fly home right after the game. Thats how its done this season. You don't cancel a game unless one of the teams is having a covid outbreak. Every city, including Denton, has covid issues. Its just a matter of degree and wherever you are located you are basically keeping your athletes in a protocol bubble.

Or Marshall who has also been canceled on. Count is as a conference game and give the middle finger to UNT. Granted Marshall is the best team in the conference and we probably would lose unlike UNT which should be a win. It would still be a good test for a young team.

Marshall would be awesome but not gonna happen. The last six years UTEP has let this city down, now it's vice versa.

Sul Ross? They just take HWY 90 to Van Horn (gas up and take a pee break), turn west and head straight for Sun Bowl (no need to stop anywhere in EP) and vice versa and take the A.D. of SR a nice check (if UTEP has the budget). Win win for both schools.

The issue is that both our canceled games are conference games and are supposed to be rescheduled. If we added a game it would be our 13th game which we would need to get a waiver from the NCAA to do. They usually grant this waiver to schools who play games in Hawaii.

The canceled games have not been scheduled so we now have a 10 game schedule. I seriously doubt UNT will make it to El Paso this season. Watch them manufacture their own covid issue when the time comes.

I think USM would like to run the clock out on this season as well. They're on their third head coach and second lame duck coach. I don't see them coming to El Paso either. Really the only home game I think will go off is UAB. They will be fighting for a conference championship and want to play. I think the FIU game next week is in jeopardy. Too bad USM and FIU at home are two wins for UTEP. I think UNT would have been as well.

Teams may count two victories over FCS teams towards bowl eligibility this season.

UTEP has already beaten two FCS teams. Playing Chattanooga does absolutely nothing for UTEP.

I like the idea of playing UMass.

No it would be pointless and more than that its a safety issue. D3 is basically glorified intramurals. They would get killed by the worst d1 team. It would be georgia tech cumberland bad. You have d3 teams that have 5-10 270 lb kids who were backups at their high school starting on the offensive line. I respect the d3 guys they're playing for pure love of the game. They aren't getting free school books or meals.
