Football Recruiting

But at least he has “a move”. I agree that he’s going to have to get a 2nd and 3rd move if he wants to be successful, but there’s something there.

I was at the Eastwood-Chapin game on Friday. The WR Workman from Chapin is the real deal. The Chapin QB is not good enough to get him the ball as often as he should. He is the best WR I have seen in El Paso in a long time. A kid that is being overlooked is Eastwood's Noah Rios. Kid had over 250 rushing in the game. Check out his mid seasin highlights.

I was also at that game and thought the same about rios. Idk if he has those type of stats all year but he definitely looked good Friday night.

Rios has played some damn good football over the past four weeks, not sure he's FBS scholarship material. Could be a walk-on if he chooses...

Just a question as I have no clue.....could it be Rios looks so good is because of the talent around him? Again...I am clueless. Havent seen a game all year.

Eastwood is starting become well coached under former UTEP WR Julio Lopez, and it also features Nate Jeffery, and Josh Bell.

IMO it has a lot to do with coaching, and a great offensive system. Lopez runs a legit Mike Leach run and shoot system and it's pretty hard to stop, ask some of those Dallas Area teams Julio has gave fits too in his short career.

Just and FYI, Rios had 350 yards rushing in the Chapin game last week. He didn't get many carries the first four games of the season and has 800 yards rushing and 8 TDs in the past 4 games.

Oh ok. It's been a minute since I was at a high school game. My friends from high school now run Irvin and it appears they are finally making progress. Numbers can keep a school down. Good for Eastwood to snag a good young coach that can make a difference.

I am pretty certain that those are just the graphics that the UTEP football department sends out to recruits each week. I wouldn’t read too much into them getting reposted by the recruits. This recruit did visit UTEP during the NMSU game, but he is not an announced commitment at this point.

With all the offers UTEP has been handing out I wonder if they’re anticipating having more than 11 scholarships. With all due respect to all the hard work these kids have put in, it may be beneficial for both sides if some of these kids went elsewhere.

If I remember correctly, Dimel said he only had 18 or so scholarships to offer when he was hired but ended up signing 27. I would bet we get closer to 20 signees than 11. He also had no early signees last year due to timing of his hiring but should be at least a few this December.

It's possible that some of those 20 signees grey shirted
