But the RBs mean nothing if UTEP keeps calling those vanilla plays and everyone sees what’s coming a mile away.
If Hardison didn't suck, agreed. But Hardison does suck and he limits what the offense can do. Dimel deserves blame for sticking to him like a fly to poo.
Are Dimel and staff recruiting Owen Levesque? He's got another year of high school, but they'd better be after him. When El Paso has someone acknowledged to be a top athlete in whatever position, the Miners had better be recruiting him. They might have a slightly better than average chance of getting him. Home grown talent may put a few more fans in the seats. And it'll shut up the critics who rag on UTEP for not being able to keep the local talent at home. Local talent won't be a cure all for the Miner's needs, but don't waste an opportunity when you get one.

According to the EPTimes article, he also kicks pats and field goals. If he's good enough to be on Dave Campbell's Super Team, he ought to be able to choose whatever he's best at, at the college level. Whatever he ends up doing, UTEP should recruit him heavy. The Miners need to recruit the best they can at every position. We don't need another Coach Kugler half assing a field goal kicker recruitment and losing games because he couldn't be bothered.
Its hard to get a scholarship as a Punter. Each School usually carries 2-3 kickers, 2-3 Long Snappers, and 2-3 Punters. But only 1 of each will get the scholarship.
Years ago UTEP signed one of the Top Punters in the nation, he played in the Army All American game.
When a kicker is recruited, they're almost never offered the scholorship, they have to win it. If a School offers him a scholarship, then that promises him he will kick as a true freshman.
Dimel stated to the news during his signing presser he was going to go after good local talent with all his muster.
He has failed so far. Understandably though. IMO it’s better that the top level kids in EP go play at P5 programs and be successful. That’s the best way to show the nation that EP kids can play with anyone.
Whoever said this a few weeks back has a chance to be right.
We could sure use him though. If he wants to come back I say let him.
WTF?! How has he not made a choice yet? I can understand how we’d wait for a resolution, seeing as how we need anyone that can catch a ball, but I’m surprised A&M is letting it play out so long.
