SFA VS UTEP game thread

UTEP should do better in the second half

SFA, lots of starters didn't make the trip (don't know the reason why)

S: #38 Trenton Gordon (Sr.)
S: #34 Gavin Roland (Sr.)

CB:#31 Caleb Lawton (Sr.)

LB:#44 Bert Morris (Sr.)
LB:#25 Gerald McKnight (So.) injured

DT: #90 Rayshad Nichols (Sr.)

PK: #60 Alex Schrag (So.)

Actually playing a walk on at LB (Eman Garrison)

Canales is "Mr. Zero Ingenuity" in offensive play calling. You could literally hand a playbook to a 5-year old and ask her to pick the next play and she would do a far better job.
Hankins just made Canales look good.

Canales: "see guys running between the tackles from 5 yards deep every time does work!"

Aren't we supposed to have a strong running game? We are averaging 2.6 yards per carry in the first half against Stephen F freaking Austin! I know that we have good running backs, but our Oline isn't opening up the holes for them. What's Texas going to do against our Oline?

Wadley, Hankins and Fields are all damn good runners. Our o line has zero push. And our coaches have zero creativity. Sucks for those 3.

Was expecting O line to open quick holes for RB's and stink at pass blocking but its the opposite with Hardison plenty of time to pass but O line having trouble sealing off blocks making the rb's work harder at first level. SFA is wrapping up those legs on holding on.

Didn't know SFA had a top 5 recruiting class last year in FCS? Their TT rb transfer had several P5 offers out of high school and giving UTEP problems around the edges.

The momentum started swinging our way after they went up 14-3. I think UTEP will have a 10+ point lead in the second half.

UNT taking care of an FCS opponent like they should. Up 50-17 over HBU with almost a whole quarter left. Watched the first half. Looking at them and looking at us, I don’t think that is a winnable game.

Other than the FCS teams on our OOC schedule do we really have any winnable games given what we're seeing tonight?

This secondary is terrible. The corners line up 10 yards off of the wide receivers every single play. for some reason they don't seem to understand on the screen play that they have to cut off the outside. Hopefully, some of these new recruits can come in and fix the secondary this season.

Our games with Rice always seem to be a toss up. It might be a stretch to say ULM. Then SoMiss looked like ass the other night. Maybe them.
