I can't imagine that we start the year with 8 scholarship players (when and if we land Ezeagu). Terry may still have something up his sleave. We need another big or at least a good sized SF. Foul trouble is usually a problem with freshman bigs, and we know PT has the same problem too.

Evan Gilyard, Kobe Magee, Isaiah Osborne and Paul Thomas are current Scholarship players, the rest are walk one. Commits are Efe Odigie, Nigel Hawkins and Deon Stroud. That's it til we see who else signs tomorrow.

Yeah forgot about him. He'll play his SR year at Utep. From Waco originally. Played D1 at Miss Valley and avgd almost 15 ppg for season and 20ppg in league play. 6'2 guard. I think we are set at guard next year. Need Eze and a transfer big man and we'll at least have a decent team to watch.

OK now let's see what we've got to work with...
Guard options......Gilyard, Magee, Hawkins, Stroud, Evans, Osborne
Forward........Thomas
Center......Efe
Looks a bit scary at the moment, but I have confidence in our hard working coach and his staff that we will be grinning from ear to ear when it's all over.
With the 8 players shown above, Osborne would be forced to play inside. Seems like he handled himself pretty well last year as a defender and rebounder. He was one of brightest spots on the team I thought.

If we can add Ezeagu tomorrow then we will have a nice looking core for now (barring any injuries). Jordan Evans will transfer in. If we can get Tarke and Bryson Williams to transfer in also, then 2019-2020 would be looking pretty strong on paper in my opinion. Of course we would have to see how the freshman pan out and see CRT's style of play. Add a few more good freshman or a graduate transfer next year and on from there.

I tweeted him earlier and he was kind enough to respond saying thank you, he likes both names I threw at him...Nighthawk and Hawkeye; but messaged again saying he prefers "Hawkeye", so there you go guys. He is now, "Hawkeye"!

I hope you guys are right about him picking UTEP. Just watching his tape gets me excited. An athletic rim protector is something The Miners haven’t had in a very long time. I know this is wishful thinking, but would this open up the possibility for Terry to play Ezeagu at C and Odigie at PF, thus allowing Thomas to play a little SF and face up and drive to the basket? Someone here made the comment that he said he played facing the basket in HS so maybe that would be a more natural fit for him. I know that playing true freshman at your 4 and 5 is probably very difficult since they probably need to develop and depth would be a serious issue too.
