CSU looked good. Is it too much to ask for UTEP to look like that?

I was going back and forth watching both games, then gave up on UTEP at halftime and focused solely on the CSU-CU game.

Everyone is dickriding Deion but what I saw is that CSU has something special brewing. Kids have grit, never gave up. Their WR’s can catch! Their QB didn’t pout and quit after that pick-6. Their LBs have their fundamentals down on how to tackle.

CSU was on the road vs the world, and they took it to CU. (Blah blah dirty plays etc, CU was doing the same shit but the media is all over their balls.)

Of note, Norvell is the 74th highest paid coach in FBS at $1.6M. Dana Dismel is the 97th at $804k. Jim Senter makes $350k, Joe Parker CSU AD $440k.

Anyhow it’s a damn shame UTEP continues to regress, and we keep paying this clown $800k a year for bogus football while other schools, former conference mates, continue to leave us in the dust.

Way too early reaction on Utep vs U of A

First off I've been watching the whole game and just turned it off after Franklins fumble after getting rocked. I hope he's ok, cause that was a shot. Stinks, cause he got the 1st and made a great effort. That play was a microcosm of the whole game. UTEP fought, but it was never in doubt, not once. I liked the fight, and think if Utep played this way against NW last week for the whole game they may have won or at least kept it close. This one just felt like a slow constant bleed, but the result was clearly inevitable. Now here are the key points.
-Hardison played decent, but our receivers did him no favors whatsoever. It was sad to see so many big pass plays missed, cause they simply can't catch anything SMH 😏 Hardison was clearly frustrated and I'm sure it effected the whole team.
- Defense showed flashed and surprisingly made adjustments to their Electric QB in the second half, but forgot to defend the run. It was definitely a bend, but try not to break attempt by Dimel.
- Overall better effort, but this team will have a losing season, because they simply cannot score!
-Tuned back into see Hurley and the 2nd team offense drive down and throw a Lazer for a TD. I don't know if that was, cause Arizona had already put their second team in, but that was impressive and I like that kid Hurley alot at least on that drive.

Piss poor production

Have any locals or otherwise heard the excuse for why chimps were producing the ESPN+ coverage? It is so basic to film with a camera and have audio. Keep the camera on the game and turn up the volume. Some of these chimps need a remedial course in "Do your job" 101. Any explanation at all? I heard post-game coverage on the ESPN600 app and the host excused it because it was the first game of the season and wouldn't get into it further, what a joke.

If we lose to UIW...

I think this game will say a lot toward the upcoming weeks. Losing to UIW would be the 2nd loss to an FCS team in 5 years and will completely crush the off-season hype to where now we're looking at 2-10 or worse

Coming back from 2 games on the road on September 23 would mean attendance crashes as well

UTEP-UIW prediction thread

Okay let’s move on…..

UIW is stacked for a FCS team with all the transfers they have on the depth chart and roster and UTEP is facing a much more capable QB in Calzada who is certainly gonna have a chip on his shoulder. Don’t see a major level of adjustment with their new staff as their HC has been around there, but they will make week one mistakes the question is does UTEP capitalize like they were unable to do at all last week.

Don’t see a line anywhere.

UIW 24 UTEP 20

UTEP lost to an FCS level offense (or worse) on Saturday, don’t see things getting better in a week. Another close game and disappointing loss to start year 6.

Anyone think this team has a Big Response?

So it appears the general thought is Utep Football is doomed. Bad coaching, sub par QB Play, talented roster waisted etc.. Does anyone believe or think this talented team feels embarrassed from last week and responds in a Big way? Maybe not so much with UTEP over the years, but this has happened in College Football every year with teams who played below expectations especially the 1st game of the season on the road. Just wondering if anyone believes this has a chance to be the case and today Utep wins Big? I'm holding my breath 🫁, and am 50/50 about tonight's game, so we'll see what happens!

Dimel Hyping Up Incarnate Word

"Last year, they had a tremendous, tremendous football team. I mean, a team that would have finished in the upper level of Conference USA, a team that went deep, deep into the playoffs and was a really, really good football team."

I guess if UTEP loses, they would lose to a "really, really good football team".

I guess CUSA is really that bad if, according to Dimel, an FCS team would finish in the upper level of CUSA.
